“Wherever
living faith exists, there is a community endeavoring to know,
understand, live, and witness to that faith"
--John Westerhoff, Will Our Children Have Faith?
At First Presbyterian
Church, Concord, we are committed to a vigorous and wide ranging
program of Christian Education for all members of the church. In our
Christian Education Ministry we strive to help create and nurture
that community by focusing on the story of God’s salvation as we
understand it through the Biblical witness and the teachings of the
Church. Christian Education at First Presbyterian, Concord,
occurs whenever the stories of God's salvation in Jesus Christ is
shared. Below you will find some of the formal ways in which that
happens in this congregation
Worship Education
Christian Education and
Worship go hand in hand to
transform lives to the glory and service of God. We offer a wide
variety of resources to assist parents in helping their children
grow into an understanding of what worship means and the part they
play in it.
Sunday School
Occurring at
9:45-10:45a.m. every Sunday, Sunday School provides a wide range of
Christian Education opportunities for all ages.
Classes for
children follow the workshop rotation model; youth classes focus on
how the Bible informs daily living; and
adult classes
vary in format from discussion to lecture on a wide variety of
biblical topics.
