Welcome to the on-line home of First Presbyterian, Concord, NC's Youth Ministry.  In this space you can (hopefully) find all sorts of answers to all sorts of questions we regularly explore in our ministry with the young people of our congregation.

The tabs at the top of this page will take you where you need to go, but if you have any other specific question you cannot find an answer to, hit the "Contact Us" tab on the left side of this page and send a message to the attention of Ben Acton, Associate Pastor for Youth and Young Adult Ministry.

Statement of Purpose
The goals of First Presbyterian, Concord’s Youth Ministry are primarily twofold:

  • To enable young people to identify themselves
    as Children of God.

  • To equip young people to live as Disciples of Jesus Christ.

These goals are fulfilled in a variety of ways through a broad program in which youth, working in partner ship with caring adult advisers, name God’s presence in their lives,  explore their Christian faith, build relationships of trust and vulnerability, and engage in thoughtful reflection and action with the world outside the church’s walls.

Every aspect of the ministry also seeks to take into account the PC (USA)’s 5 intentions for Presbyterian Youth Ministry:

  • To call young people to be disciples of Jesus Christ.
  • To respond to the needs and the interests of young people.
  • To work together, youth and adults, in partnership.
  • To be connected to the whole church, community, and the world.
  • To include all young people, reaching out and inviting them to belong to the community of faith.
